Diabetes in and of itself does not generally cause you to retain weight. Sometimes the medications a person is taking will often interfere, contributing to levels of fluid retention. Be as active as you can, striving to become a “lean machine”, even if the numbers on the scale don’t immediately change. Be very honest with yourself about your food intake/portions vs. activity levels. If you can locate a nutritionist in your area who can suggest appropriate vitamin/mineral compounds and carbohydrate vs. protein amounts, that may be the boost you need.
