A person who has poorly controlled diabetes may find that it takes longer to stop the bleeding or to heal the cut. This is the same caution for any wound, especially on the feet, which is why people with diabetes are encouraged to check feet daily for even a small splinter. If you maintain good levels that have been established with your physician, then healing times should be similar to anyone else who is basically healthy.
