Best Supplements to Increase Muscle Mass

As people age, they lose a significant part of their muscle mass. Muscle gain supplements can help you maintain a healthy muscle mass.

Supplements to increase muscle mass

  1. Creatine. Your body naturally produces creatine. This molecule provides energy for muscles and other tissues. Taking creatine dietary supplements can increase creatine content in your muscles by up to 40% beyond its normal level. It affects your muscle cells and improves exercises performance, resulting in muscle gain. In addition, studies have shown that creatine improves muscle strength. Moreover, creatine supplements can raise the level of IGF-1 (Insulin-like growth factor 1) – the hormone involved in muscle growth. There is also evidence that creatine can reduce the breakdown of proteins in the muscles. Additionally, creatine has been thoroughly studied and has an excellent safety profile.
  2. Beta-Alanine. It is an amino acid that decreases fatigue and can improve exercise performance. Additionally, beta-alanine may aid in increasing muscle mass if you are exercising regularly. For example, the research has shown that taking four grams of beta-alanine supplement per day for eight weeks increased lean body mass in college football players and wrestlers more than a placebo. Although there is still a need for more research on beta-alanine and muscle gain, the beta-alanine supplement can be helpful in supporting muscle gain when combined with regular exercises.
  3. HMB (Beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate). When your body processes leucine amino acid, HMB is produced. HMB contributes to some of the health benefits of protein and leucine in the diet. In addition, HMB plays a key role in reducing muscle proteins breakdown. Even though your body naturally produces HMB, taking a supplement increases its level and may benefit your muscles. HMB has the most significant effect for people who are just starting exercise or increasing the intensity of their workout program.
  4. Protein Supplements. If you want to gain muscles, your protein intake must be greater than protein breakdown by the body through natural processes. Thus, consuming enough protein is essential for gaining muscles. You can get all the protein you need from protein-rich foods, but some people find it challenging to do so. To consume enough proteins, you may consider taking protein supplements. Protein supplements are available in many varieties, but several of the most popular are whey, soy protein, and casein. Other protein supplements contain protein isolated from chicken, eggs, beef, or other sources. However, some studies have shown that a very high amount of protein supplements is not effective in increasing muscle if you are already consuming a high-protein diet.
  5. Branched-chain Amino Acids (BCAAs). Three individual amino acids make up branched-chain amino acids: valine, leucine, and isoleucine. Listed amino acids are found in most protein sources, especially those of animal origin, including meat, eggs, dairy, poultry and fish. Branched-chain Amino Acids are critical for muscle growth because they make up about 14% of the amino acids in the muscles. People consume BCAAs from food every day, but BCAA supplements are also very popular. However, it is likely that BCAA supplements may only benefit people who do not eat enough high-quality proteins in their diet. If your diet is insufficient, BCAAs may help, but more research is needed before BCAAs can be recommended as a muscle-building supplement.

You can also try the Khavinson peptide supplement Gotrarix in order to increase your muscle mass. Gotrarix is a cytomax containing peptide bioregulators isolated from young animals’ triceps muscles. Gotrarix selectively targets muscle cells, known as myocytes. This Khavinson peptide supplement is designed to improve muscles’ reserve capacity and help them recover faster after intense workouts and injuries. These peptides for muscles help enhance the body’s endurance and slow down natural muscle loss.

Muscle gaining medications

Anabolic steroids

Anabolic steroids are medicines derived from testosterone – the primary male hormone. In addition to promoting and maintaining muscle growth, testosterone also contributes to the development of secondary male characteristics, including facial hair and a deepening voice. Anabolic steroids are synthetic versions of the hormone testosterone. These muscle gain medications affect a wide range of body organs and systems, including the muscles, bones, hair follicles, liver, kidneys, blood, immune system, reproductive system, and central nervous system.

Anabolic steroids, also known as anabolic-androgenic steroids (AASs), can help build muscle and enhance workout performance. However, these medications also have significant adverse effects, particularly when used in the wrong way.

Anabolic steroids effect

The usage of steroids may result in hair loss, the appearance of acne, growth of breasts in males and beards in females, hormone disbalance, clogging up of the heart, and even liver tumors. Even violent, angry rampages can result from steroids.

Steroids indeed help in muscle gain, but that is only on the outside. The risk of taking steroids is too high. The problems resulting from the steroids intake may harm your body for the rest of your life. In fact, steroids can shorten the lifespan of their users.
